Come share the Good News with Spokane!
What’s the most exciting thing you’ve ever done? Mountain biking in Moab? Backcountry skiing, freefall parachuting, rock climbing perhaps? Do you remember the thrill you felt in the midst of that experience?
Now what if I told you that you can experience a thrill beyond earthly measure, that requires no extended travel, no special gear, no protective clothing or helmets, and no special prior experience or training? (there is actually a little training involved, but even that is a thrill in itself!)
Although I’ve been a follower of Jesus for only about 17 years now, I can tell you the most thrilling thing you can ever experience is to share the Gospel of Salvation through Christ with others, and see their lives changed forever as a result. Because we as believers have all experienced that personally… we all once stood on the “other” side of this fence, lost and seeking, burdened and weary, losing hope and meaning and purpose… until God broke through the darkness in our hearts with the penetrating, healing, loving, redemptive light of His Son and set us free. He called to us, lifted us up, saved us, and purchased us with His blood. He loves us with an everlasting love that will says He will never leave or forsake us. He reached into our hard hearts with the truth about His devotion and all-forgiving sacrificial love, and died on the Cross to save us from our sin. Moreover, He rose again to raise us also to everlasting life and union with Himself in heaven.
That’s the Good News that we get to live out today! And very soon, we here — in our simple fellowship, and in all of Spokane — will have the chance to partner with others in bringing the good news to our region.
Here’s the scoop! From August 1st through 13th, Franklin Graham — son of the greatest evangelist of our time, the late Rev. Billy Graham — will be holding a series of one-day prayer and evangelism events across Washington and Oregon in the 2018 “Decision America” tour. Franklin will present the Gospel of Jesus Christ at each event, calling the lost to repentance and faith—and praying together with believers for their families, churches, communities, and those far from God. Each stop on the 7-city tour will also feature live music from Jeremy Camp.
Friends, we need Jesus. Our city needs Jesus. How much? Consider:
– More than a third of people in Spokane either hold unorthodox beliefs about God or reject Him altogether. Please pray that these individuals would hear the truth of the Gospel and respond by surrendering their lives to the Lord.
– Over half of Spokane’s population believe that good works will get them into heaven. Ask God to reach these people with the peace, freedom, and hope that only a relationship with Jesus Christ offers.
– Pray that Bible-believing churches in Spokane would be emboldened and that God will bring revival to this city, this region, and across the U.S.
So mark your calendars — Spokane’s event is set for Thursday, August 9th, at 7:30PM, at the Spokane County Fairgrounds in Spokane Valley (next to Avista Stadium). YOU can join in right now and be a part of the team making this happen. Here’s the website with all you need to know: https://pnw.billygraham.org/ and the link to the different ways you can get involved: https://pnw.billygraham.org/get-involved/ .
Even though it’s just a few weeks away, there’s still time! Fill out the online form, sign up for the training, and come be amazed at God’s hand in action. You will be blessed. It’s been nearly 16 years to the day (in August 2002) that Franklin Graham came to Joe Albi Stadium with a three-day Festival that saw huge crowds attend and many lives changed. As a brand-new Christian, it was a gigantic blessing to join my friends in taking the Christian Life and Witness classes and taking part as a prayer volunteer. So please come join in, this is much more exciting than any BOMB ride could ever be! Don’t miss this chance to put your faith into action. I’d love to see you there!
Call, text or email me if you have any questions! And don’t forget, you’ve been “commissioned” to this work:
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28: 19-20)
